My entire life I have been allergic to various food additives, including the sulfites added to water.  This has proven to be very difficult, as there are various brands of bottled water that I am unable to drink.  For a very long time I was never able to figure out why at I would break out into hives when there was nothing in the meal I was allergic to.  After discovering that a few others share this sulfite allergy with me, I decided to build this website in hopes of spreading the word about this almost unknown allergy.  Sulfite allergies seem to have the same or very similar effects to preservative and food coloring allergies.  Essentially, it is a similar type of additive which works to increase the appearance and/or taste of a food product, and has similar outcomes.  Symptoms (for me) include red and itchy rashes and swollen watery eyes. Please help me to spread the message about this barely known but very present allergy.  We should not have to suffer from something as simple as bottled water.
